Glory of the Mahamantra ‘Om Namo Bhagavathe Nityanandaya’

There is only One God Parabrahma, One Mantra Om Namo Bhagavathe Nityanandaya, One Dharma Ajatavada, it’s all Oneness!

Om Namo Bhagavathe Nityanandaya

Mantra conferred by Guru is full of consciousness and life (Chaitanya and Prana), Sarvatra Nirguna Parashiva (Parashiva who is devoid of qualities always) does not endeavor anything without Shakti. Thus Guru’s Shakti is quintessential in the Mantra that sadhaka chants to become Siddha. When the sadhaka becomes Siddha wherever his eyes cast vision, he sees the rays of light amplified from the effulgence of his soul there. This way a yogi who has received the kriyayoga diksha becomes exuberant in bliss and intoxicated in bliss (Anandonmattha). Yogi who has received the Shaktipath Diksha called Siddha Mahayoga also receives Bhukthi Mukthi (pleasures and liberation) through Mantra and YogaSadhana.  The Siddha Mahayoga’s Mahamantra ‘Om Namo Bhagavathe Nityanandaya’ is a Dharmarahasya (the secret of dharma), Ajatavaada Tattva. Quite a lot of them do not know that this Mahamantra was imparted by Avadhutha Bhagavan Nityananda himself like Amrithvrishti (rains of nectar). This Mahamantra which came from Chidakashrupi Parashiva Parabrahma is full of consciousness (Chaitanya) and life (praana), devoid of Maya, Nirgun, Nirakar Brahma that a Sadhaka attains liberation as result (Moksharupa Phal).

I met Chandrashekar Shetty of Mumbai at one of the functions held in Nityananda Mandir constructed by CBD Bhaskar Shetty of NaviMumbai, he told me about a very important incident witnessed by him in the presence of Bhagavan. He used to sing Bhajans, he had become beloved of Bhagavan Nityananda singing Bhajans in Ganeshpuri events. He said that when Bhagavan was there, during that time itself grouping among the devotees of Bhagavan Nityanand had begun and few conflicts also arose due to this in Ganeshpuri; Pujya Muktananda Paramhamsa’s devotees chanted ‘Om Namah Shivay’ and Bhagavan’s other disciple Saligram Swamy’s demanded that “Sri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram’ has to be chanted. Discrepancies between the two groups grew to fights. The saddest part of it is that the nuisance happened in the presence of Bhagavan Nityananda and neither of the groups was ready for compromise. Chandrashekar Shetty stood spellbound beside Bhagavan Nityananda. Immensely pained by this incident, Pujya Saligram Swamy left Ganeshpuri. Bhagavan shouted loudly “where is my Saligrama? Where is he? Today onwards in this place there is no discrepancy between Shiva and Rama, chant only ‘Om Namo Bhagavathe Nityanandaya’ mantra”. There was no disparity or conflicts between Pujya Saligram Swamy and Pujya Muktanand Swamy but it was among their devotees.

Om Namo Bhagavathe Nityanandaya Mahamantra is like Kalpavriksha, Kamadenu, Pratyaksha Phalaprada (boon-giving), Sadhaka attains the ultimate (paramartha siddhi) chanting this divine mantra which is the wisdom incarnate and noble of all other mantras (sarvottam jnanaswarup paramshresht mantr). “Om Namo Bhagavate Nityanandaya” is the mahamantra that came from the divine voice (divyavani) of Parabrahma directly, no other Avatar purushas (incarnated beings) have instructed to recite their name. Nityananda is not the name, his name was Rama, Nityananda is a state of perpetual bliss, hence Bhagavan also chanted Nityananda. The powerful mantra bestowed to the entire world and universe by the form-less and name-less Parabrahma himself is “Om Namo Bhagavate Nityanandaya”. Shri Chandrashekar Shetty who narrated this incredible incident to me merged in Bhagavan Nityananda chanting his name in his Thane residence, in August, 2020. With utmost desire to talk to Chandrashekar Shetty and seek his permission to mention his address and contact number in my article I called up a devotee of Nityananda, Bhaskar Shetty, and learned about his departure from life. Bhaskar Hegde of Samadhana Hotel, Ramu Naika, and other Devotees of Bhagavan Nityananda have continued to chant the same Mahamantra since that day, and every evening in front of Bhagavan’s idol in Samadhi Mandir they chant the mahamantra. Same Mahamantra was conferred to Tulasi Mata and Lalita Mauli who merged in Nityananda chanting the mahamantra. Swamy Vijayananda of Nityananda Dhyana Mandir, Bevinakoppa has made divine sankalp of sahasra koti japa yajna (1000 crore) of Nityananda Mahamantra, let us also chant this divine mantra and contribute to the japa yajna as we enjoy the nectar of the mantra. Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita says ‘if you worship me, you will attain me’, similarly if you chant Nityananda, you will attain Nityananda, the eternal bliss.
